Our Care

Moorcroft, at present is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to cater for 24 persons (personal care) male/female and we would mainly cater for the older person.

Moorcroft has all the comforts you’d expect, with the small personal touches that make them feel special.

Moving into a care home doesn’t mean someone needs to leave their previous life behind. Here at Moorcroft, we encourage new residents, with support from their family and friends, to continue to live life as they always did. This can mean doing things such as family outings, friends visiting, shopping trips and even overnight stays away from Moorcroft.

We support our residents to be as independent as possible, safe in the knowledge that our dedicated staff are there around-the-clock to offer support with everything from getting dressed in the morning, to providing personal care with dignity.

A Safe Place for Elderly People

We pride ourselves on caring for our residents as though they were members of our own family. It’s this close bond which makes our home feel special.

Moorcroft is designed with all the usual comforts you would expect from home, creating a relaxing atmosphere with features such as a lounge, dining room and conservatory. Our residents are supported to personalise their furnished bedrooms to make them truly feel like home, with everything from precious pictures to small pieces of furniture.

By working closely with other healthcare professionals, we are able to care for people who have underlying health conditions. We have weekly visits from the district nurses to deal with ongoing medical issues, so our residents can often remain in the comfort of their home when they need a little extra support.

Unlike home care, dedicated care is on hand round the clock for our residents, even if it’s just for a cup of tea and a natter, there is always someone there to help. Our residents build lasting bonds with both our teams and their fellow residents, too.

Families of residents can also have peace of mind that their loved one is well cared for, and in a sociable, enriching and safe environment.

Day Care

At Moorcroft, we offer day care services. This enables your family member to stay for the day, have some personal care, and enjoy two meals before they go home for the night. However, so that it doesn’t impact the home, we limit this to a maximum of two per day. Daycare gives a good insight into the home and has the benefit of us getting to know them and vice versa, which will ease the transition into full-time care for the individual and also for their family. This will also allow them to forge friendships and enjoy a variety of entertainment on offer.

End of Life Care

Where long term residents are requiring end of life care, here at Moorcroft we will do all that we can to facilitate this. Often, we will need the support of outside agencies such as district nurses, but where we feel we can provide the right care, we will always endeavour to keep our residents here during this difficult time.

It is normally comforting to the person, their family and their friends that they can remain in the place that they now call home during their final days.
