We’re delighted to introduce you to the driving force behind the scenes – our Care Home Manager, Juliet Powell and Deputy Manager Mair Rowlands.
Meet the Manager
Juliet brings a wealth of experience to Moorcroft, with an impressive 30 years in the care sector. Juliet has a degree in health and social care and also possess an NVQ level 5 in management.
Having started off her career in care as a care assistant, Juliet had certainly found her calling and progressed through the levels, firstly becoming a senior care assistant and not long following that, progressing into management. She has a wealth of experience across the sector, including children’s services. However, elderly care is where Juliet’s heart lies, and she joined the team here at Moorcroft in April 2024.
For Juliet, working in care is means making a real difference. It’s about leaving work each day with the satisfaction of knowing she has positively impacted the lives of the people under her care. Her genuine desire to help and support our residents makes her a perfect leader for our team at Moorcroft Care home.
Meet the Deputy Manager
Deputy Manager Mair Rowlands has a long and distinguished career in care and has been at Moorcroft for over 30 years. Starting here at Moorcroft in 1990 as a domestic assistant, she soon after became part of the care team, as a carer for 7 years. Thereafter Mair became a team supervisor and having attained her NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care Management, Mair became the Deputy Manager, a position she has been in for many years. Mair experience here at Moorcroft is exceptional and the support she offers to her management and the team as a whole is outstanding.
Mair has a desire for delivering the most outstanding care and is truly passionate about her work, our residents get exceptional input from Mair who always ensures that she never rushes her time with them along with keeping her colleagues on their A game. Moorcroft has been a huge and important part of Mairs life, and she considers our residents to be part of her family.
Meet the Team
The team at Moorcroft Care Home consists of caring, experienced and hardworking individuals who are passionate about providing first-class, personalised care to each and every resident. As a team, we work hard to build strong relationships with one another, treating each other with respect, and collaborating at all times to ensure that our staff, residents, and relatives at Moorcroft feel supported and valued.
As well as providing an intensive induction, we ensure statutory training in subjects such as safe Moving and Handling, Dementia Awareness and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, among other courses.
Here at Moorcroft, we pride ourselves on being a happy family and as part of our recruitment and supervision processes, we ensure that the team are encouraged to make Moorcroft a happy home, full of fun and laughter. We have 24 individuals that call Moorcroft their home and it is important that our team are always aware of this.
In addition to the care team at Moorcroft, we have other staff that are integral to the amazing service we offer. This includes, our kitchen team that consistently produce a 5 star food (as well as amazing cakes), our domestic team who make the home sparkle as well as ensuring our residents clothing is clean and pressed, our maintenance team who are on hand to ensure we keep those cogs moving and our gardening specialists who keep winning gold at Llandudno in Bloom!
